Monique Lhuillier’s Hottest Bridal Gowns of 2014

Monique Lhuillier was born in Cebu City in the Philippines but moved to Los Angeles to study design and began creating bridal gowns in 1996. By 2001 she had opened her first retail store and within a couple of years she became famous for designing wedding dresses for celebrities such as Britney Spears. Now she has stores in several major US locations and is a world-renowned fashion designer.

Her main area of expertise is the wedding dress and her collections are as eagerly anticipated as any in the world. Below, we look at her most recent offerings which wowed the public as per usual.

Fall 2014 Collection

Onlookers said Lhuillier’s Fall 2014 collection was akin to walking in an enchanted forest. This probably had more to do with the moss, birdcages and branches involved in her presentation rather than the actual design of the dresses! She is a designer that knows how to put on a show and the presentation of her dresses was more memorable than the actual shows of some designers.

Her stunning dresses were not overshadowed however with most of the collection made from ivory or white silk organza and Chantilly lace. As always, the designs ranged from the simple to the complex which means there is something for all tastes.

Lucille

This is another classy knee-length A-Line dress with a Chantilly lace illusion high neckline. Like most of the collection, this dress is ideal for an outdoor wedding.

Spring 2015 Collection

Lhuillier said this particular collection was her ethereal daydream which appears to be a very apt description of what she has produced. There is a feeling of romance and fantasy in these dresses as silk satin organza, Chantilly lace, embroidered beading and tulle finishes all combine to produce a memorable collection of bridal gowns. While Lhuillier mainly sticks to traditional white, there are pastel shades dotted around the Spring 2015 collection.

When you close your eyes and think of a classic and traditional wedding dress, this gown is probably what you see. With its Watteau train, silk embroidered tulle overlay sweetheart neckline and strapless nature; it is a stunning creation and one of the best in the entire collection.

This is a more unusual wedding dress with long sleeves, a keyhole illusion neckline and tulle overskirt the highlights. You should consider this gown if you really want to leave a lasting impression.

Lhuillier is an innovative designer with an eye for the unusual but creates wedding dresses that suit almost every taste. Whether you want a traditional and classy gown or something a little bit different, a Lhuillier creation is likely to produce the goods.
