Adding glam to your wedding gown usually means silver beading, sequins or charms but for the more daring bride we have a rainbow of colors and ideas.

Shimmery fabrics, elegant draping and a beautiful fit can make for an extravagant wedding gown but for the bride that wants something more many designers have huge collections of beaded and embellished gowns. At Vows we have a lot of gowns with elaborate beading, heavy embroidery and interesting additions but we have noticed lately that all this glitter is usually silver in hue. Sure there are crystals that reflect prisms of light, and there are ranges in silver from polished to pewter but we were curious to see what else is out there. We did a little investigating through our racks, and asked our consultants to see how brides can incorporate their favorite colors without having to tie-dye their dresses.

We found that we do have some very convincing reasons to get a little more colorful, and the biggest reason is this decadent Reem Acra dress that is new to us. The big, green gems are so stunning and the ruching of the bodice makes this dress absolutely fit for royalty. If you don’t want to commit to gems, another way we have seen color being incorporated is through sashes. One of our favorite dresses is this orderable WToo by Watters dress that has a light green sash. (Green seems to be the color of choice for designers looking to add something extra)! We also have black sashes which can be so chic for a modern bride and we’ve seen a lot of pink and ivory sashes on the runway this year. Adding color at your waist or underneath your bust draws attention to your gorgeous figure without being garish.

Don’t feel stilted by designers though.
