As a native New Yorker with a knack for fashion, Vera Wang learned the language of style very early on while touring the city and unique boutiques with her mother.

As a “fashion insider” and bride herself, Wang was inspired to create a new vision of contemporary bridal wear and notably opened her first flagship store in 1990 on New York's Madison Avenue. Her innovative bridal collections paired with quality customer service and a personal connection with soon-to-be brides was quickly noticed from retailers, editors and industry peers alike.

Twenty years later, Vera Wang continues to create fantastic, couture gowns, and has extended her original, inventive designs into ready-to-wear and bridesmaids collections, as well as, beauty and home furnishings to name a few. Driven by artistic design and exclusive customer satisfaction, all of her signature collections seem to corner the high-end luxury market.

In 2008, Vera Wang opened her first freestanding ready-to-wear store in New York City—and in 2009 celebrated her first west coast store opening with a beautiful salon on Melrose Avenue in L.A.

Something nice to note: Vera Wang employs more than 200 people and manufactures the majority of its bridal collection in company-owned operations in the United States.

Vera Wang is continually intrigued by the fashion-forward sophistication and romance surrounding the modern young woman, a theme that resonates throughout all of her designs, even today.

From wedding gowns, maids' dresses, and everyday clothing, to china, giftware, eyewear, fragrance, flowers and home accessories (including mattresses), Vera Wang has built an esteemed bridal and lifestyle empire under her namesake, Vera Wang.

One can only wonder… what's next for Vera Wang?
